Update! Update!

Hey everyone, it's Andrea. Wanda has been doing great.

A few things. First of all, she got her bone scan testing back and with great enthusiam she called to say the cancer is not in her bones nor has spread anywhere else. GLORY TO GOD! They believe that with chemo treatments that the light is starting to shine through here for Wanda! Isn't that awesome!

She went in yesterday to get her port. This is where they will administer all chemo/radiation treatments effectively. She is currently staying with her son Kyle and is being watched by all her angels,...sister, first choice, family and church family.

Her first chemo treatment was today. I'm waiting to hear how that went. This will determine so much as we are in prayer that she'll be able to start back to work in the next month or so. She hears stories about women that do...but we just want to make sure she's going to be able to handle the treatments and not get so tired.
Also...notice her new haircut above! She's kissing Luke. She came by to visit and was HE THRILLED! We got sad cuz she had to leave. Come back soon Miss Wanda...Luke misses you.
Now...please note that in the next 7 weeks...she'll start to lose her hair. Please pray for this as we all know how hard that must be as a woman. So loved ones..pray for a smooth transition in this season for Wanda.
She also got to go to this makeup session where women showed her how to put makeup on in place of eyebrows, etc. As she will most likely lose her eyebrows, eye lashes, etc.
Lots of stuff. However...all Good stuff thanks be to GOD.
Love you all and please keep praying in faith.
Much love,
Andrea

***Please pray for Wanda's right arm. She's been struggling with this as well as a viral infection in her mouth.

I'm home from the hospital

I got home on Thursday (10/18) and Kyle brought me to Henrietta to the ranch. I stayed there until Sunday and then they brought me home to my house in Nocona. My beauty shop lady is on her way to cut/style my hair as I've been laying on my back and it's a huge mess.

I feel no pain except stinging in the right arm but the Dr. said that's nerves and that is normal. I see the plastic surgeon tomorrow and he'll decide if I have to take out the three drains that you see in the picture below. They have to drained 3x a day.

I'm currently on Darvaset. The pain is minimal. This surgery is not near as bad as I thought it would be. I do feel somewhat wobbly. I have no pain in my chest so that is good.
Pray for my healing and I love you all.

In recovery...

Hi everyone, it's Andrea again. I went to see Wanda and she's doing great. Her surgery went fine and she's bright and chipper and just talking away. She had many guests coming in and out and all I'm going to say is she is one loved woman. This picture is Wanda's hand as she was holding on to this awareness bear.

I loved it and had to blog it. More to come.

Much love,
Andrea

Surgery went fine

Hi everyone, this is Andrea. Wanda's sister left a message on my cell phone saying that Wanda went through surgery today just fine. No complications and she's in recovery.

If you could please lift her up in prayer that she has a smooth and quick recovery.

Thanks so much,

Andrea

The day from heck...

I found out my surgery time today.
Oct. 16th, 12:15noon at the Diagnostic Center at Plano Presby.
It's been a huge anxiety day. I had to deal with insurance issues. Then, Luke's mom came home and gave me a facial and took some beautiful portrait pictures at the park with Luke. And, I felt blessed to be in the presence of my little Luke and that I had forgotten about that rude lady that I talked to earlier in the hospital. She really upset me by her comments torwards me. (By saying it was an elective surgery) Breast cancer spread in the lymphnodes and she's telling me it's an elective surgery??

But, the day is over and I am much better after my facial and being in the home of the Hughes family.
God takes care of things. Thank you so much for praying.

Love you all, Wanda

Just me...

I wanted pictures taken of me before my surgery. I wanted my son, my family and friends to see me feeling great even though I have cancer. It's hard to explain other than..I feel ok...I don't feel sick. Therefore, my sweet photographer kindly took pictures of me that shows who I am and how I feel.
Please pray for my anxiety. It's the little things that are tipping me over the edge. I just ask for what the Lord says in His word "Perfect peace".

Love you,

A big day, a big update

I had my first visit today with the plastic surgeon and Carinsa Gaston (Oncology program director) at Plano Presby. I received many products to assist me in my journey with Breast Cancer. I signed up for Nov. 17th for the "Look Good, Feel great" program. This program will actually give me a huge 'free kit' that will contain tons of donated makeup from Estee Lauder, Clinique and many other cosmetic companies. And, there will be make-up artists present to help us learn to apply eye brows, eye lashes, etc.

As of today, my double mastectomy surgery is scheduled for Oct. 16th.

And then the chemo will start approximately 3 weeks post surgery - every 21 days for approx. 5-6mths.

I've been told to expect to lose my hair around this time.

I'll be updating my blog weekly...please check out my journey whenever you feel like it.

Hugs, Wanda

The following pics are of Luke (my special needs baby) that I take care of and he's one loved little boy. One in 2 million. (literally) He wanted to touch my new hat and we put it on him.
