Happy Thanksgiving

I just want to say I am doing well and just so blessed to be here this Thanksgiving. As most of you know last Thanksgiving I was so sick and simply praying that I would get better. My prayers were answered as I am much better this year.
God bless you,

Surgery went well/Med port out

Hi this is Nancy,

Wanda is doing well and is resting. She has had a long day and glad to be resting at my house. Miss Madison made sure her Mee Mee was well taken care of. She would go with me to the room to check on her and would sign sleep and shhh.

Thank you so much for all the calls and visits at the hospital as well as a special thank you to our niece Sarah who went with us and stayed all day. As we had to get up EARLY and we left my home at 4;00am.

Thanks so much for all the prayers, Nancy

I am having the surgery on the 31st of July at 7:30 am at Plano Medical Center. This will be contingent on my blood work that I will be having on the 24th. If all is well I will be getting silicone implants. They will also be taking my port out as well which is really great news.

I just want to say thank you to all my friends and family that have stood by my side during this difficult time in my life. I love each of you with all my heart. I feel so blessed to be entering this stage of my fight against breast cancer.

God bless each of you,

OH WHAT A WONDERFUL FEELING

Hello this is Nancy; I just wanted to share with you a story about OUR SURVIVOR.

We went to the relay for life and we got to see my sister walk around the track in a purple survivor shirt. What a feeling that was. Her son Kyle was their and we said that we were so blessed to see her wearing a purple shirt. It was such an emotional time for us as we walked the care giver lap with her. We were so proud watching her as she pushed her Madie girl around the track.

Seeing her walk the survivor lap was just a great accomplishment in her battle with cancer. As their were times around Christmas when she was so very sick . She is such a courageous person and I am so proud to say she is my sister.

God bless each of you, Nancy

One week of Radiation Down

I just wanted to update all of you on my radiation treatments. I have completed the first week and going up in down on an emotional roller coaster. I went to a support group on Monday night which helped alot. I really needed to go as I had whined all the way to Plano.
I have 51/2 weeks of treatments left and I feel good today. I have gained 15lbs back which my doctor was very happy with that. I hope you enjoyed the video of my American Idol fan and our Easter shade pics.

RADIATION TIME

I Went to get my tattoos today for my radiation treatment. I am so excited that I get to start my treatments on WEDNESDAY. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. This will make my completion date on tax day. I was so pleased to find out that I did not have to wait the two to three weeks that they originally told me.
I still am having anxiety over this so please continue to pray as I begin this part of my journey. The doctor told me tody that this should be easier on me than thechemo was. He said that thier could be some problems with burning of the skin that can be treated with aloe vera gel. He said that I would not be as sick as I was with the chemo . This made me feel a little more at ease.

FINISHED WITH CHEMO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My last chemo treatment went well. I am sooooooooooo happy to be finished. I have gained 8lbs and the machine had to recalculate dosage due to my weight gain.
I again thank each of you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
love Wanda

CHEMO TREATMENT # 8

On Monday the 25th I will go for my LAST CHEMO TREATMENT. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so looking forward to Monday as my hair should start growing back.
I then will start radiation treatments afterwards,I haven't found out how long after Chemo that I will have to wait.
Please pray for me as I am really really nervous about starting radiation treatments as with anything you hear good and bad stories. I am scared about my skin burning and just having alot of anxiety. I have to go every workday for six and a half weeks. This just seems like a really big mountain to climb, but I know that I have already completed a big part of my journey.
Please pray for my finances as I did not have cancer bills budgeted nor the time I have had to be off work. This has been a very difficult time for me and I want to thank my friends and family once again for walking beside me in this journey.
God Bless each of you, love Wanda

A STORY ABOUT WANDA

Hello,

My name is Nancy, I am Wanda's younger sister. I cannot say little sister as I am bigger than her. She got our moms cute little figure and I got dads tall and not so cute figure. Anyway, on with my story about my wonderful sister Wanda. I want to share how Wanda was so so supportive and caring during a difficult time in my life. I found out that I was pregnant in may of 2003 and Wanda was so happy for me.

During my pregnancy she checked on me all the time. When I was 26 week along I had to go on bed rest. Wanda stayed with me a lot of the time and sometimes on very little sleep. She went to appointments with me and just helped me so much. My complications continued and the baby was still born at 32 weeks. Wanda stayed at the hospital the entire time and only left to change clothes.
She helped me through my grieving process and provided so much support. On the the first year anniversary she wrote a special note in the newspaper about our precious little Allyson Grace that we never got the chance to know.

I just cannot say enough on how she was there for me during that time. I then became pregnant again in 2005 and on 1-25-06 gave birth to the Madie who is in the picture with Wanda on the chemo update post.

I just wanted to share how special Wanda is to me and how that I admire her so much.
She is being so strong during her difficult time and I hope that I can do for her what she did for me.
Love you, Nancy
